Super Big Scallop

It was our pleasure to be invited by Jessie, our new neighbor downstairs to have hot pot dinner with her.  Jason (Jessie's boyfriend) needed to back late and thus, we can enjoy lots of food yesterday!

Jason is a chef major in Japanese sushi & sashimi!  Thus, he can always obtain very fresh and good quality of sashimi.  Yesterday night, we can then have a very very big scallop as sashimi.  Wow, we never ever seen such big scallop before!!  Yummy yummy!

Thanks Jessie, thanks Jason.  Without you, we can't have such delicious dinner!

Christmas Eve BBQ

It has a been a long time for not updating my blog. I'm too lazy and busy in preparing my wedding.

Since living in Ma Wan, I got more chance to "show off" my cooking. Yep, I love to cook but I do more enjoy if people love my cooking.

We've a Christmas Eve BBQ this year with 16 adult friends and 1 little lovely girl. That was the new record!! It was really tired to prepare a 16-peoples menu and foods. I started to prepare the food on 23 Dec from noon to 4:30 in the early morning of 24 Dec. This was another record!! However, I thought that should be worth if my guests love my foods.

As I'm in annual leave, I didn't need to work on 24 Dec. I woke up at 11:00 and went to Kwai Fong to buy some more fresh foods like Sushi, and the most important of all, bought the presents for exchange.

Back home at 16:30. It was about the time for the guests to come. However, I needed to clean the house cos MikoBaboota have pissed and pooh on the floor. Oh no! I can only start to prepare the remaining dishes after 17:30.

Luckily, our guests only came after 18:00! So rush.

Here were the menu on that day:

All the meats except 西莓焗釀火雞腿,燒羊架,豬頸肉 are marinated by me.

I'm so proud that I can cook! However, I must say "thank you" to my dearest dad though he left me in 2001. Dad was a wonderful chef that can cook everything especially Chinese cuisine. I loved to watch him cooking, shopping the market with him! Dad taught me a lot and shared with me his experience in cooking. I think that's way I can cook well without any formal training! To regret, I didn't have chance to cook more for dad since I grown up!

Anyway, everybody enjoyed the party and I was so glad that they love the food and our house warming!!

Siu Ngau : Reborn!

Siu Ngau left us on 4 Oct 2007 at around 12:00. It's almost 50 days since then. After serious consideration and have the advice from Ray (our friend as well as a fung shui master), we decided to give a second life to Siu Ngau. It's much more meaningful then just left his "little bones" in a jar!

We have go to the flower market in Prince Edward today and search for a suitable flower plot and plant as "Siu Ngau The Second". Basically, I already have an idea. I would like to plant a "日本森樹" early time before. Thus, this is the choice! The budget for planting the 森樹 with a nice flower plot is HK$320. However, the actual value of the plant is not that! It cannot measure by $$. It's a new life, you cannot measure the value of a life!

From now on, this plant is not a plant only. "He" belongs to our family, "He" is my lovely son Siu Ngau. "He" is from now on called "牛牛樹"!

My Cooking

I love to cook. Every time when I heard my friends and family said that my food are great and very delicious, I will be so glad! At the time begin, I will keep on learning how to cook different kind of food and at a suitable time, I can have my own restaurant! This is my dream!

Hot Pot at Home Again!

Cos Sunny and I do want to eat fewer rice, we decided to have hot pot again at home tonight!

I've prepared two different soups. One is made by 10 fresh tomatos and the other is pre-made chicken broth. The tomato soup is absolutely yummy! The total cost for 2 peoples is $100 approximately.

Our New Family Members

Still have strong belief that my lovely son Siu Ngau Papa is now in haven, lying in a cloud, having sun bath and smiling at us. Though we are missing him, we cannot alter the truth. We believed that Siu Ngau also want us to be happy!

When we tried to buy something for the rest of our lovely sons & daughters yesterday at Prince Edward （金魚街）, we met "HIM". A little tiny turtle （珍珠龜）, when we have just stopped by an aquarium shop, trying to buy some fliter for our fishes, Sunny saw a tiny turtle was trying hard to climb to next compartment. That turtle was so funny, he was trying to escape for something when all his buddies were sleeping. Sunny then asked if we should bought him cos he was so special! Don't know why, I agreed. However, only one is too lonely. We also bought another turtle （巴西龜）to be his partner. They costed us $38 + $10.

Then, Sunny asked me what should be their name, the name that came to my mind was "小牛龜“. So, the 珍珠龜 is called 小牛龜 now! And, the 巴西龜 is called 小波龜. That is from the name of my first lovely cat "Lee Siu Ball"!

We then bought a lovely house for the two turtles, a rectangle glass container!

小牛龜 & 小波龜 is now stayed at the shelf in the roof. An outdoor envirnoment with many beautiful plants! 小牛龜 is really active and have a big mouth. He look like 小牛 so much! Hope that our new family members will live happily with us!

MEOW 8 Forever!

My lovely son Siu Ngau have left us on 4 Oct 2007 at noon. He was gone peacefully without pain. Though his body left us, his SPIRIT is always here and will last forever!

He devoted all of his love to us and to his lovely sons, daughters, grandsons and even Bat Bat during his entire life. He was so kind and generous to all the animals and people. We love him and respect him so much! Thus, meow8 is meow8, Siu Ngau is still with us! We LOVE you, Siu Ngau! We know that you're in a peaceful world and smiling at us, right!

Thank you Siu Ngau, thanks you for bringing us your lovely sons, daughters, grandsons and grand grand grand sons & daughters. They're really so lovely and kind. Thanks so much, Siu Ngau, you've done your best as our family member!

Siu Ngau, my lovely boy, you should be stronger to fight for the disease!

We've visited Siu Ngau tonight but Dr. Anthony is off today till this Saturday. The vet on duty today is Dr. Richard Plotter. We believed that he's experienced enough to take care of Siu Ngau. After he've go through Siu Ngau health profile, just as what Anthony told us, he don't know what's going on in Siu Ngau! Dr. Richard said that, it's a complicated case and can't tell it's optimistic. As it's really can't tell, Siu Ngau may not be cured and finally...... Of course, we should not give up! The insulin seems can take effect in the diabetes and the glucose level is stable for these two days. For the blood level, the vet said, it should be monitored by the PCV value. The reading is 14 for these two days. However, it should not drop to under 10 as that is a dangerous level and may need blood transfuse immediately.

By only taking into account for the measurement, it seems to be good, at least, didn't get worse. When we visited him tonight, he looks better than yesterday. He is moaning and trying to stand up and come to us. He's trying to tell: "Mom, Dad, I want to back home with you and sleep with you! I'm getting better now." Yes, Siu Ngau is so strong, we believed in him! He will have the luck and will to fight for the disease! He will not leave us without our approval!

Siu Ngau, my good son, you will recovered. Many of your friends will pray for you and support you. God will bless you!

BTW, would like to say thanks to Simon. Thanks for your best wishes to Siu Ngau! Terminator Siu Ngau WILL BE BACK!

小黑與我 - 薛凱琪 (小黑 Cast by 小牛)

In the MV, the black cat 小黑 actually is my lovely cat 小牛!! He's so lovely, right?

He's 8.5 years old now. However, he's very sick and is in the vet clinic. After several tests, the vet still don't know what's happened to him. The only finding is the diabetes. The glucose level is still high in the blood and urin. However, only diabetes will not cause his blood level to drop to such a extremely low level. The vet said, the possible treat at last may need the blood transfuse. Of course, that will be the last last issue cos it's not easy.

Today is the second day for him to stay in the clinic. Some vital level have been slightly increased but he's still do not have appertize. We just visited him twice today and his skin texture looks better. Of course, he's still so weak and tired. Anyway, we know, yes the meow8 and mikobaboota families all know 小牛 is so strong and luck will be with him! God bless him! He'll recovered and back home soon!!

小牛, we love you and miss you!! So, please, please don't give up and you can absolutely get well. We all waiting and welcome you back HOME!

Want to have hot pot but we don't want to dine outside. Thus, hot pot at home and enjoy TV is a good way! This time I used the pre-made seafood soup for hot pot and another favor is "芫茜皮蛋湯"!

Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette

Very happy that I've received the eyeshadow palette yesterday! Bobbi Brown have released a limited edition eyeshadow palette namely "Stonewashed Nudes Palette" on early July in Hong Kong. I tried to buy that on 7 July after Shelly and Lok's wedding. However, very disappointed, all sold out in Hong Kong!

I tried to search that in Yahoo auction. I found 2. I've bid for them. However, I didn't won cos I've missed the last auction chance. Then, I search the palette in Ebay. I found that several sellers sell this item. I can't wait and I use the buy-it-now price to bid one from U.S. The fixed price in U.S. is US$50 and I bid that at US$46. Including the postage, I pay $61 together. That equal to $480 HKD. In HK, the selling price is HK$480 and so, I'm so happy that I can got it at the same price!

The palette is so nice and the color can be easily use. It's perfect for Smokey Eyes. The colors are so natural! It really worth that price!

My New Makeup Products

Yesterday, I've spent over $2000 at Mongkok Seibu to buy the new foundation and skincare products.

The new foundation is newly designed for high definition TV. What's that means? As the resolution is much much higher in HD TV, any imperfect skin will have no space to hide if shoot by HD equipments and shown in HD TV. Thus, a foundation with better coverage should be use.

Ex:beaute is a Japanese brand and is the first to develop foundation for HD TV. I really want to have a try! Thus, my purse have lost it's weight yesterday.

Really can't wait to see the result!
